Merry Christmas (three times over)!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!  This year I had Christmas on two continents, with three Christmas trees—-first in Germany with my cousins, then another Christmas celebration with my brother and his family in Connecticut and finally at home in Berkeley. That’s not quite the Christmas I had planned. The Germany trip came together last minute, but all in all, the jet-setting holiday turned out to be really nice. In Germany, I got to spend time with my cousins and their kids, Sebastian and Matthias, whom I adore. Germany is a great place to spend Christmas—it’s a very festive time, with lots of lights and decorations and the Christmas markets that you find all over Germany.  It was really fun to hang out with the kids. I last saw them in August in Greece and really missed them. We had fun putting together Sebastian’s new Star Wars Lego set and playing various games. The kids turned me onto Pokemon Go and I will admit that I am now slightly obsessed (Level 14 in just a week!). Connecticut was nice too. Otto has gotten so much bigger since I last saw him. He’s toddling around all over the house and loved the train set and blocks he got for Christmas. He and Gary (their dog) are still best buddies. Gary has clearly figured out that an 18 month old toddler is a pretty good source of snacks. I’m back at home now in Berkeley with a few more days, and enjoying a third Christmas at home, hanging out with friends, enjoying my Christmas tree for a few more days and getting in some relaxation before gearing up for 2017. Here are some photos from the last few weeks.
